120 TPH Fluorite Processing Plant in Mongolia Achieves 97%+ CaF₂ with Jigging Separation

In October 2024, a complete fluorite processing plant designed and manufactured by FRP was successfully commissioned and put into operation at a mining site in Mongolia. The plant integrates crushing, double-shaft spiral washing, screening, and jigging gravity separation, achieving design throughput while delivering fluorite concentrate grades and recovery rates beyond the client's expectations.

Project Location

Mongolia

Mineral Type

Fluorite (CaF₂)

Throughput Capacity

80–120 t/h

Concentrate Grade

97%+ CaF₂

The processing line consists of two main sections: the crushing section (outdoor) and the washing, screening and jigging section (indoor workshop). The crushing stage includes a hopper, feeder, one primary PE jaw crusher and two fine jaw crushers, which reduce the run-of-mine fluorite ore to the required particle size for downstream processing.

Inside the workshop, a double-shaft spiral washer intensively scrubs the ore surface to remove attached clay and impurities. The washed material is then classified by a vibrating screen. Fine particles are sent to the 2LTC 6109 jig concentrator, while coarse particles are treated by the FRT 16-2 jig machine. Finally, the fluorite concentrate and tailings are dewatered by a dewatering screen before stockpiling. The entire system operates continuously, efficiently, and with minimal water consumption.

Key Technical Advantages Of This Fluorite Beneficiation Plant

Size-Specific Jigging

Fine and coarse fractions are treated separately using 2LTC 6109 and FRT 16-2 jigs, maximizing recovery for each particle size range and delivering 97%+ CaF₂ concentrate.

Proven Reliability In Central Asia

This project demonstrates FRP's ability to deliver complete gravity separation plants in remote locations, with low maintenance requirements and stable continuous operation.

Why Jigging Separation For Fluorite In Mongolia?

The key decision driver for choosing jigging gravity separation over flotation is the combination of technical and commercial benefits:

  • Jigging alone achieves the required concentrate grade and recovery rate, meeting client specifications without additional downstream processes.
  • Compared with flotation, jigging significantly reduces capital investment because no flotation cells, reagent systems, or grinding stages are required.
  • The operation is simpler, the equipment lineup is compact, and maintenance is straightforward, reducing skilled labor requirements.
  • No chemicals or reagents are used, making the process environmentally friendly and reducing tailings treatment risks.
  • With no chemical agents involved, environmental permitting can be easier and faster, which is important for projects in sensitive regions.

In this Mongolian project, the customer specifically required a simple, cost-effective, and clean process. Jigging separation met the technical targets while keeping the plant approval process smooth.

“Installation went smoothly. The plant reached target capacity within two weeks. Good support from the FRP team.”

FAQ — Fluorite Processing By Gravity Separation

1) Why Is Washing Necessary Before Jigging For This Fluorite Ore?
The raw fluorite ore in this project contains a certain amount of soil and fine waste. Washing removes this soil, significantly improving the efficiency of downstream jigging separation. Cleaner feed allows the jig to better stratify particles by density, resulting in higher concentrate grade and recovery.
2) What Final Concentrate Grade Can Be Expected?
In this Mongolian project, the fluorite concentrate grade reaches 97%+ CaF₂. Actual results depend on ore characteristics and process control.
3) What Information Do You Need To Evaluate My Fluorite Project?
We require the head grade, liberation size, clay content, bulk density, and target throughput. FRP can arrange lab-scale beneficiation tests and provide a tailor-made flowsheet.
