Fine Material Spiral Washer

The FRP Fine Material Spiral Washer is a robust and efficient solution for the washing, classification, and dewatering of sand, fine aggregates, and mineral materials up to 10 mm in size.

As a fine material spiral washer designed for fine material processing, it effectively removes clay, silt, and lightweight impurities, ensuring a clean, well-graded final product suitable for use in concrete, mortar, asphalt, and industrial sand production.

With a durable structure and simple maintenance requirements, the FRP Spiral Washer is available in both single-screw and twin-screw configurations, offering flexibility to meet different capacity and cleanliness requirements.

Fine Material Spiral Washer

Key Benefits / Advantages

Heavy-Duty Spiral Shaft Structure →The spiral shaft adopts continuously welded helical segments and an extra-thick one-piece shaft tube, providing high structural strength and rigidity for stable operation under continuous load.

Reliable Bearing Sealing →A triple sealing system protects the bearing from water, slurry, and fine material ingress, improving reliability, extending service life, and reducing maintenance.

Customized Overflow Weir →The overflow weir can be customized to accommodate different process requirements and site installation conditions, helping control fines retention and final product gradation more effectively.

Flexible Structural Options →The machine can be equipped with optional discharge chutes, support structures, and safety covers to match plant layout, operation requirements, and safety standards.

Intelligent Control Option →Intelligent Control Option Optional PLC system enables real-time adjustment of spiral speed and water flow, improving washing efficiency and reducing manual intervention.

Dewatering Screen Integration →Can be integrated with a dewatering screen to combine washing and dewatering in one system, producing lower moisture, higher-value final sand.

Why FRP Fine Material Spiral Washer

Flexible Design for Different Material Conditions

The FRP Fine Material Spiral Washer is designed with a strong focus on wear resistance, classification control, and adaptability to different material conditions. The spiral flights and key wear areas can be equipped with polyurethane, high manganese steel, or rubber liners depending on the application. Polyurethane liners offer excellent wear resistance for sand and fine aggregate with moderate abrasion, high manganese steel liners are better suited for high-impact and highly abrasive materials, while rubber liners provide effective cushioning and noise reduction in wet, fine material processing environments. The machine is also equipped with an adjustable or customizable overflow weir system to control the cut point of fines separation and final product gradation. Single or twin screw configurations are available to match different capacity and washing requirements. Combined with an inclined trough design, optimized spiral pitch, and flexible integration with downstream equipment such as dewatering screens, the system ensures stable conveying while enabling effective control of fines recovery, product cleanliness, and overall process adaptability.

Frequently Asked Questions

FAQ for Fine Material Spiral Washer

The FRP Fine Material Spiral Washer operates based on gravity separation, hydraulic classification, and gentle scrubbing action. Feed slurry enters the lower pool area of the washer, where water flow suspends lighter silt and clay particles while heavier sand or mineral particles settle at the bottom of the trough. A rotating spiral shaft with precisely designed flights conveys the settled material upward along the inclined tank. During this process, interaction between the spiral blades, material, and water flow generates mild agitation and scrubbing, releasing adhered fines and impurities from the particle surface. The separated silt and lightweight contaminants overflow through the weirs, while the cleaned material is transported to the discharge end.
Its typical applications include washing screen undersize material, improving the quality of natural and crushed sand, removing silt and clay from fine materials, producing clean sand for plaster, concrete, and asphalt, supporting pre-dewatering processes, and handling fine material washing in mining, industrial, and recycling operations.
